YouTube Strategy a Killer For Marketing
YouTube Strategy. Why not use MetaCafe, Viddler, or other video-sharing websites instead? Why did you choose YouTube in particular?
YouTube Strategy. The first point to mention is. That YouTube. Is owned by Google.
As I previously stated. This has far-reaching implications for YouTube's present and future. As you may be aware, YouTube began as a separate company from Google. In fact. They were. Only recently purchased. By Google.
If you look at Google and what they're up to, you'll notice that they're in the business of making money. They want to make money on the internet. Having a company like Google on your side can only mean good things in terms of financial success.

YouTube Strategy.
That's something else. Google has deep financial reserves. They have the ability to fund a company like YouTube for many years if they so desire. They've decided to back YouTube because they recognize its potential. That's a pretty clear indication that YouTube is a technology to keep an eye on.
They are currently the second most-visited website on the Internet, in my opinion. Google, in my opinion, is the best. I'll have to double-check those figures, but YouTube is significant.
Google wants you to succeed as well. If you're successful, they'll make more money and be more successful as well. So the fact that they're behind YouTube implies that they're working hard to make YouTube as easy to succeed on as possible.
When you look at the changes that YouTube has gone through since Google bought them, you can see some significant differences. It's visible in the AdSense program. Which was introduced.
In the YouTube videos. It's clear from the various designs and layouts that they've been working on. You can see how YouTube videos are ranking much higher in Google search results. Having Google on their side is extremely beneficial.
YouTube Strategy. Google Search Results rank YouTube Videos.
So you've got that going for you. When compared to all other video-sharing sites. Your chances of getting ranked in Google are much higher if you only submit to YouTube.
YouTube Strategy. This is an unbelievable traffic source.
This may seem like an understatement, but YouTube recently reached one billion views per day. I'm not sure if we can visualize that number, but imagine one billion coins; you could probably fill an entire stadium with them. One billion views per day are enormous, and this is only from one website.
A study conducted in 2008 revealed that there were 71 million unique users each month. That figure has most likely been superseded by now. But this is the most recent data we have on that particular statistic. It's a huge benefit. You're missing out if you're not using this as a traffic generation source.
I believe we've only scratched the surface with the FreeMagicLive example. We've only scratched the surface, and we already have 15,000 people on our email list.

It Is A Search Engine In and of Itself.
Have you ever gone to YouTube and started searching for something, such as in this search box? In comparison to Google, an increasing number of people are using YouTube as their primary search engine. Is this a trend that will continue in the future, and instead of searching on Google, people will instead search on YouTube? Perhaps YouTube will become the most popular site for people to search for information.
Consider this. What are the consequences? What are the implications for your online business if YouTube becomes the world's number one search engine? And, with YouTube, would you want to be in the right place at the right time? Certainly, I believe so.
YouTube Is No Longer Just For Teenagers.
This is a question I've received from a number of people. "Sure, you had success on YouTube, but your market is only for teenagers," they say. That may have been true when YouTube was first launched, but times have changed. YouTube's demographics are changing at an alarming rate. It's no longer just for teenagers, which is great news if you're marketing to other age groups.
Teenagers continue to be the largest demographic, but as some of these statistics show, YouTube is beneficial to people of all ages. Consider this. YouTube videos have been viewed by 85 percent of the US population. That is enormous. A YouTube video has been viewed by 85 percent of the people. In the United States. This is amazing!
But take a look at this. 71% of males aged 45 to 54 have viewed a YouTube video. Isn't that cool? And here's the thing: take a look at all of these other age groups combined. These are typically wealthy individuals. These are people who have jobs and can afford to buy something on the internet. When you add all of these people up, it's far more than just teenagers.
And you'll notice a similar pattern among the females. Consider the following percentages of people who have watched YouTube videos in their lifetime. It's not just teenagers who are affected. This is something to consider when considering YouTube as a potential traffic source for your website.
The YouTube Demographics Are Shifting.
It's no longer just for teenagers. As those teenagers mature, they become older, they begin to work, and they begin to fall into a different demographic.
This is an example of a typical new technology adoption cycle. You've probably seen what's known. As an S-curve. It looks like this. And it's a typical curve for new technology introduced into. A new market. It's no different on YouTube. They went through a period of rapid expansion here. I believe they began slowly in 2005 and then experienced exponential growth. We're currently in 2010, so this is where we are.
That means you still have two years to get your act together and start doing stuff on YouTube because none of these people in this market are on YouTube yet. If this S-curve holds true, it means that a large number of people will continue to join YouTube, and you'll want to be in the right position once they're all online and watching videos. You want your videos to be up and running by 2012.
It's critical that you get something online as soon as possible, preferably on YouTube. This is the current state of affairs. This is supported by research from the YouTube 2009 Report. The research was conducted by an independent research firm.
Let's get this party started. Consider the implications of these statistics. Consider these demographics and what they mean for your online business. How can you position yourself to be in the best possible position when the mainstream, people in the US and the UK, go to YouTube and start interacting on a regular basis?

What Are the Implications for Your Company Right Now?
What do you need to do right now to start preparing for that? Consider that. What does it mean to you now, and what does it mean in the future? There are things you can do right now. To help you get set up for YouTube in the future.
You have a competitive advantage because you were the first to market. 2012 is a watershed moment for the mainstream in the United States and the United Kingdom. I haven't even looked at statistics for places like China or India, which have massive populations.
That is why I believe we are still at the beginning of the curve. If you combine all of the statistics for the entire world, some very exciting things are going to happen for YouTube. That is my forecast.
Introducing the "YouTube Beach Head Strategy."
What is the end result of all of this? I'm a firm believer in concentration. This strategy was taught to me. It's what I'm calling the YouTube Beachhead Strategy. I'm doing this because I truly believe that if you want to be successful, you must focus all of your attention on one thing. Concentrate on that until you've mastered it, and then move on to the next thing.
So, what exactly is this? In a nutshell, the Beachhead Strategy entails finding a large ball and rolling with it. That's all it really means. It's a matter of locating a major market player, such as YouTube in this case, and simply going with the flow with them. Join the bandwagon and use them as a bargaining chip. It's all about focused leverage, and in this case, that means focusing on YouTube.
Where did I get this concept? It was given to me by. Geoffrey Moore. A brilliant thinker. He wrote a book for the high-tech industry called Crossing The Chasm. He discussed how, for any new technology, there is a product adoption cycle that begins with early innovators, early adopters, early majority, late majority, and laggards.
YouTube Strategy.
This is typical of any new technology that enters the market. Geoffrey Moore discovered that with new technologies, there is usually what he refers to as a gap or chasm. Most new high-tech startup companies fall into this chasm here. They reach this point and run out of customers. They fall into this chasm. Are never seen or heard from again. They simply vanish.
He mentioned creating a beachhead strategy, which is similar to a beachhead that you can use to jump over to the early majority. It provides you with a starting point to enter the early majority. When you reach the early majority, you've reached the tipping point. That's when things really start to pick up for you.
I'm using this concept to argue that if you want to reach the tipping point in your industry or niche, use YouTube as your beachhead strategy. Use YouTube to help you get the early majority for your niche, as it's one of the best vehicles to use right now for driving massive amounts of traffic to your site.
This is what it all boils down to. I hope you understand what I'm saying here. It's incredible, given YouTube's power and the fact that they've partnered with Google. We are living in incredible times.
You can try to spread your attention and use a bunch of different video-sharing sites, different strategies, on different platforms, and things. And end up spreading yourself so thin that you don't get any results. But this strategy has been tested and proven, and I'm now just applying it to YouTube. That is why I refer to it as the YouTube Beachhead Strategy. I hope you can see why you need to get on YouTube as soon as possible and concentrate your efforts there.
